Online Travel UK x Amy Manning
Brand & Website

Working with Airbnb, Trip Advisor and Booking.com!

I worked with Surge Communications a few years back, in fact when Lorna founded the company she was one of my first brand design clients. So when she contacted me to work with her again it was always going to be a massive YES!

Her client Online Travel UK is a coalition made up of online travel tech companies in the UK travel industry. This project involved working with the likes of Booking.com, Skyscanner, Tripadvisor, and many other big names in the online travel sector!

Lorna came to me as OTUK had no brand or online presence, and if it was to get the word out there it needed a face.

OTUK wanted to emphasise that whilst they operate in travel they are also massive tech businesses. So although travel is their passion, a lot of their lobbying work is around digital markets and digital travel. So it was really important for the brand to focus on online travel tech.

Online Travel UK is “Shaping the future of travel and supporting UK economic growth.”

Pre Brexit, members were involved in the EU Travel Tech. But after Brexit and Covid they got together to create a UK version. They decided they needed a presence and be credible.

Together with Surge and OTUK, we worked through the brand strategy of the project, ensuring that the deliverables would be on-point. OTUK needed a reputable and professional brand along with a simple yet powerful Squarespace website.

The design needed to be reflected of its values, ethos, and personality:

+ Future focused

+ Digital travel tech

+ Group strength/a voice in the travel sector

It also needed to emphasise that whilst they operate in travel they are tech businesses.

To have a strong relationship with the government and press, be a trusted advisor and voice.

The brand needed to strengthen the engagement in our existing members, to support OTUK and engage. To potentially attract new members, and speakers, and to give brand awareness at relevant events whilst also building strong relationships with the government and press.

The brand needed to tell the story of a trusted advisor, a voice for the online travel tech industry.

The results!

A future focused travel tech logo.

Inclusive and striking typography.

A beautiful in-depth brand guidelines.

A user friendly, to the point website.

A brand with a voice.
